Normally the part of planning that involves booking accommodation is my favorite. I love sifting through the different options until I settle on one that seems to fit our needs. However, when it came to booking our accommodation in Philippines, Shawn took the reign and he did a really good job. If you are wondering where to stay in Moalboal, read on.
Honestly among all the places that we stayed in the Philippines, one of the places that we stayed in that I really loved was a place called Herb Garden. I will get to that in a bit. Before that, let’s take a look at where to stay in Moalboal and which location should you choose.

Where To Stay In Moalboal?
In this post, I will talk a bit about our accommodation, and I will be suggesting locations that are good to think off. I however will not be naming individual properties simply because we haven’t stayed at them.
When I think of where to stay in Moalboal, I tend to divide the place into three parts: the city, the tourist area and the outskirts. Each of these have their perks.
If you choose to stay in the city, you will find that grocery stores and local restaurants are easily accessible. You will however be a distance away from the beach. It is the area that most tourists just brush past on their way to see the sights that Moalboal has to offer.
The tourist hub brings you close to all the activity. It is a busy spot to be in and there is a lot of activity and almost all times of the day. It is great for those people who want to head out and party or want convenience and don’t want to travel too far.
Then there are the locations that lie neither in the city or at the tourist area. These are the ones that are generally quieter, and you can find a little niche for yourself. That is if it is what you are looking for. Shawn and I chose to stay in one of these kinds of areas.
The place that captured our attention was Herb Garden. We did rent a motorbike so that we could move around the area more easily. That is something that you may want to keep in mind.
HERB GARDEN: A Review

The most important thing that we were looking for in our accommodation in Moalboal was a place that would offer us a quiet and peaceful time. When Shawn stumbled upon Herb Garden, we were not really sure what to expect but we decided to try it anyway. I have to say that it was the best decision that we made.
Herb Guest House is owned by a couple and it is based on a simple concept. A couple of rooms and a herb garden in the centre which you can chill at. The accommodation is based on a small property. If you aren’t interested in individual rooms, they do offer dorms.
The best part however was the communal area. It was a large room where everyone sat at one big table for breakfast. It was either that or the hammocks in the garden. You invariably tend to meet and chat with the other people staying there at the time.
Another attractive thing about the property was the location. A short walk away is a lesser visited beach which you will be directed to. Sure, it does not have the sardine shoals that Moalboal is famous for, but it does have some really fine snorkeling. The bonus is that you would probably have the beach all to yourself.
